Thulasi in India is considered as a divine plant and is parallelly used for various health issues, the most common being cold. Thulasi plant is a must in every household in TamilNadu. In TN (short for TamilNadu) if an individual develops cold then the person is offered few fresh Thulasi leaves. The medicinal property of the leaves works wonders for cold, a Tea is prepared from the Thulasi leaves by boiling the leaves in water and drinking the same. Thulasi is also sold in powder form in many of the Ayurveda shops in TN. This powder is used as a face pack for eliminating skin boils/ pimples.

Siddhars & Natural Face pack for Glowing Skin

I wanted to start this blog to record all the natural face packs and hair care. I hail from India from the state of TamilNadu. TamilNadu is a state that is known for its rich heritage and culture. It is also the place that Siddhars hailed from. The Palani Murugan Temple in the district of Palani is a living example of how Bogar Siddhar had created the statue using Navabashanam to protect people from various diseases. Siddhars are the foremost fathers in scientific and medical research, when you divulge deep in to their notes and books one would be amazed regarding the wealth of information and research they had conducted.

As TamilNadu has rich history of Siddhars, Palm Astrology etc.., Natural medicine is a must and still exists in most of the households in TamilNadu. Any health or skin related issues most of the tamilians would come up with a home remedy that works more effective than the Allopathy medicines.

Considering the fact that I was born and raised in TamilNadu, I would like to record some of the home remedies and also mention about Ayurveda medicine & Siddha Medicine. In Ayurveda or siddha it is all about combination (like chemistry) a particular product combined with another product yields great results. The magic lies with the combination!

I have come across various blogs reviewing about the store products that is loaded with chemicals and other harmful substances. In todays busy world these products are a huge hit due to lack of time to prepare the natural products. Natural products always produce the best results. If you can allocate little time each day everyone would have lustrous hair and glowing skin.

In this post I'm going to talk about Besan/ Gram Flour (also known as Kadalai maavu in tamil) and how it can be used as a face pack for a glowing and shining skin.  Besan flour is made from Chickpeas and is an important ingredient in Indian cooking. Besan four helps to tighten skin and removes dead cells. It is alkaline in nature and has to be combined with either Milk or Yogurt to make a face pack.

Method:

Take a teaspoon of Besan flour and add milk or yogurt to make a thick paste .
Now apply this pack to your face and neck (using an applicator make upward motion while spreading the pack across the face and neck).
Let it dry, you might feel your skin tightening.
Once it dries wash your face.

You will be amazed to see at the glow, repeat this once every week for best results.

I used Besan and Yogurt as you can see in the images.
